Playstation new Masamune 2.0 update due Tuesday 28th October

Hello everyone!

Playstation have announced that the next system update 2.0 for Playstation 4 will be released on Tuesday the 28th of October.

The main features are ;

Being able to broadcast your gameplay direct to YouTube.

Share play (allowing another PS4 owner to play games with you as if they were in the room)

Themes to chose from and you can also change the background of the home screen from any of the 7 new colours; gold, blue, red, green, purple, pink, and gray.

A USB music player that enables you to play your own custom soundtracks in the background during game play after inserting a USB stick loaded with music into the PS4, a new option for USB Music Player will appear. Supported filename extensions include MP3, MP4, M4A, and 3GP.

The monthly free PlayStation Plus games will have an ‘Add to Library’ button in the PlayStation Store. This button will add a game to the library without downloading it, which will save space on the hard drive.

You can also refine the home screen, it will now display the 15 most used games and apps, with the remainder of the software installed on your system being confined to the Library section. The library section has also been improved, there will be a filter and sort functions to help organise by type (game / app / TV & video), name (a – z or z – a), recently used, or install date.

There is also a "players you may know" area in the What's New section.

The voice commands has also been improved so players can now say ‘PlayStation’ to begin commands, and ‘All Commands,’ to see a list of all voice command options available. New voice commands were added for live broadcasting, including “Start broadcast,” “End broadcast,” and “Find face.”

This update is so significant Playstation have named it "Masamune".
